Wow, isn't this term just flying by?! It's been a very productive week here in 5/6C. We have continued working on our narratives and most should be published on the kids' blogs over the coming week. As previously mentioned, we had a special guest come and talk to us about ANZAC history, which helped sum up our unit well on the ANZACs. In maths we looked at converting units of measurement and multiplying and dividing numbers by 10, 100 and 1000. We used hands on materials to assist with these calculations. In reading we compared and analysed all the ANZAC texts that we read throughout the last 3 weeks and talking about why different authors use different language devices and style when composing texts on a similar topic.
The homework this week involves some relaxation and deep breathing techniques.
We just ask that all students - regardless of whether they are participating in the upcoming NAPLAN tests - practise some of the techniques we learnt during our Life Skills sessions.
Relax, meditate, go outside and ride the bike around, chill in the kitchen - helping with dinner or the clean up afterwards.
Whatever you decide to do - make sure you are not stressed or placing undue pressure on yourself.
The idea is to do your best, and to remember that the results are just one sample of your abilities.
